There is no such thing as a silver bullet
When most people start training they start to realize that not everything is as easy or consistent as it seems. you see other people online or on your team making a lot of progress and you want the same for yourself, but you don't see all the work that they put in, the plateaus they broke through, or any of the daily Nitty Gritty that they went through to get to where they are. Probably the thing I hate the most in modern day coaching/sports is this idea of a silver bullet. Everyone and every company is claiming that they have the golden ticket or the new way to improve on everything that you're struggling with and break whatever roadblock you are experiencing.
The truth is it's never that simple. No matter how convincing their advertisement might seem, no matter how scientifically Advanced or well spoken the person is, the simple fact is there is no such thing as a silver bullet.
The only way is with a bunch of lead bullets. you have to be consistent over and over and over again every single day for months to years on end to really see Improvement. People like to say there are no guarantees and I generally agree, but if you are a youth athlete and you're willing to dedicate 12 to 18 months to train really hard and really consistently then I am almost ready to guarantee that you will be better at the end of it.
You have to take small, Direct and intentional steps in the right direction every single day for a very long period of time. What most people don't realize is that when athletes are going through puberty during their teenage years their ability to improve and become bigger faster stronger is unparalleled to what it will be at any point in their athletic career.
If you are willing to be one of the few that takes advantage of this time and their development, you will likely see dividends paid.
But again, there is no Silver Bullet. you have to do all of the work yourself, there are no guarantees about your success and you have no choice but to follow through with no promises of it being better in the end.
But here's the deal, the time will pass anyway. the season will still come. your coach will still write the lineup card before the games and you might be on it, but you might not.
The only thing you can do is give yourself the best chance. So instead of looking for a silver bullet, start taking daily steps and getting better.
The choice is yours, it’s your career.
